Joshua 3:14-17 NKJV says,

“So it was, when the people set out from their camp to cross over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people, and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest), that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho. Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.” Did you happen to notice the mind blowing thing about this passage? Let’s pay closer attention…

From any type of information, I’ve ever heard it’s not wise to take a walk into a flash flood. Yet that’s exactly what these men did. The water had not stopped, parted, and dried up before they started walking. They began walking out into the flash flood and THEN the water stopped, parted, and the ground began to dry. They STEPPED and then it STOPPED. Why would they do such an “unwise” thing? It’s simple. God told them to.

As far as I know God hasn’t changed. The writer of Hebrews says that He “...is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” As far as I know the Word of God hasn’t changed either. The Prophet Isaiah says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” So if that’s true, and you claim to believe that; then God is still in control, His perfect plan is still in place, and you have a command to follow to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus.

The Great Commission for the Church is not supposed to be put on hold based on the circumstances in the world. He doesn’t say, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel…” but only when it’s “safe”, makes sense, or when you understand the circumstances. Nope. He simply says, “Go”. So even if it doesn’t seem “wise” the world still needs Jesus and needs the Church to proclaim the Gospel in it.

Have you been willing to step out into the flood waters of uncertainty to make Jesus known or have you been sitting back waiting for the waters to stop, part, and dry up? Be willing to take that first step and watch what He does!
