Have you ever said to someone, “You need to stop talking.”? Has anyone ever said that to you? If you’re like me the answer is a resounding, “Yes.” Especially in a social setting, we sometimes need someone to step in and tell us to stop talking and start listening. The same can be said of our growth as followers of Christ.

We are told this many times in Scripture including Ecclesiastes 3:7 which says, “…A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak…”

Our default human nature is one of speaking, especially with Christians. When we are together, we talk to and with one another. But there are times when we need to practice silence. Silence allows us to break into our default and truly learn to listen and relate to others.
