Patrick Henry is known for several things including being the first post-colonial governor of Virginia, one of the founding fathers of our great country, and his “Give me Liberty, or give me death!” speech. However, we should truly appreciate him for quotes like this, “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians, not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ!”

 

Our forefathers most certainly fought for our freedom as an independent country, but also for our freedom to take the gospel to others. In this time of chaos and uncertainty, may we not lose focus on the fact that our mission as His Church is take the Gospel to the world.

 

The answer to the chaos that we are experiencing is Jesus. His truth and grace is the only thing that can heal the minds and hearts of people and His love can only be seen by us loving those around us and taking the Gospel to them by our words and our actions. Now is not the time to sit back on our hands out of fear and doubt but to be proactive to be salt and light in this world!
